My oldest daughter, Doniae and lil-ol-me.

The picture is of Doniae, my oldest at 28, and myself at a 4th-o-July pic-nic in our backyard. I have no idea what she is doing, probably squinting into the sun. I have two other daughters 27 and 20, and yes, they are beautiful young women as well. Of course, what else would a proud dad say. I love them very much and I think the feeling is mutual.

A little about me

I'm bi-racial, half-German, half African-American. People tell me I'm built like a tank, I guess because I used to be a bodybuilder/ weightlifter. Unfortunately I don't look like a body builder any more...oh well. I've studied English with a concentration in medieval lit.(BA), business admin. with a concentration in intl. marketing(BBA), and law (JD), and I worked in experimental electronics for 13 years. I also worked as an illustrator to help pay my way through college,... the first time. But now when I have the time, I draw or paint just for me.

I read voraciously, 2-3 books a week - sometimes more, sometimes less. For fiction I like mysteries, contemporary 1st novels bylesser known authors & sometimes popular authors and of course poetry - Pablo Neruda being my favorite. For non-fiction I mostly read books on art history and criticism. Although, I also like to read about science, world politics, and economics. I also collect books, 1st editions when I can get them. However, most of my books are art related books. I collect engravings, etchings and most types of prints. I love love music and have a nice collection of, mostly classical and jazz but some R&B, pop, country and rap mixed in to keep things interesting. And I have a great collection of classic and contemporary blues recordings professionally recorded by my buddy Ron Mento from Philly. He really does have an awesome collection of blues records, CD's and tapes.

I like people and I usually give them the benefit of the doubt by assuming they are basically good and want to do the right thing. I've been wrong...sometimes...oh well. Anyone who's seen any of my art work can't help but know that I do like looking at women. But I suppose smart women with a good sense of humor are the most attractive type.

The following picture is a pencil study for a larger drawing that I'm doing in color pencil.
